Understanding Coffee Origins: What Makes Each Region Unique

Coffee is grown in a belt around the equator, roughly between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. This region, often called the Bean Belt, includes parts of Central and South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

Latin American Coffees

Coffees from countries like Brazil, Colombia, and Costa Rica tend to be clean, sweet, and well-balanced. Brazilian coffees often feature nutty and chocolatey notes, while Costa Rican beans might surprise you with bright fruit flavors.

African Coffees

Ethiopian and Kenyan coffees are known for their vibrant, complex flavor profiles. Expect floral aromas, berry-like sweetness, and a wine-like acidity that makes them stand out in any cupping session.

Asian Coffees

Indonesian coffees, particularly from Sumatra, are famous for their earthy, full-bodied character. They often have low acidity and deep, complex flavors that pair wonderfully with darker roast profiles.

At Mosanko, we source our beans from carefully selected farms in El Salvador, Brazil, Uganda, and Costa Rica, combining the best characteristics of each origin in our signature blends.
